RTV6 will launch Saturday and Sunday editions of “Good Morning Indiana,” it was announced today by Larry Blackerby , RTV6 vice president and general manager.
“With the growth of our newly reformatted Monday through Friday edition of “Good Morning Indiana,” we felt the time was right to expand to weekend mornings,” says Blackerby. “Delivering fresh, relevant content for Hoosiers on TV, on RTV6 mobile apps, and on-line seven days a week, 24 hours a day is our top priority.”
With the addition of weekend morning news, RTV6 will expand current staffing, adding eight new employees. “We are excited for the opportunity to add to our team of journalists,” says Terri Cope-Walton, news director, RTV6. “This is a major investment in talent and resources for RTV6. Users on all our platforms will benefit.”
“Good Morning Indiana Saturday” will air from 6am to 10am, with ABC’s “Good Morning America” scheduled from 8am to 9am. “Good Morning Indiana Sunday” will air from 6am to 8am.
The weekend editions of “Good Morning Indiana” premiere September 7.
