Inspired by the top-rated NBC program, “The Biggest Loser,” Taft Price, meteorologist for Scripps NBC Affiliate KJRH, lost 25 pounds in eight weeks on his “Choose 2 Lose” challenge.
Each week Price blogged about his experience shared recipes and even engaged in a live chat with viewers during “The Biggest Loser.” Price teamed up with fitness instructor Wes Cole and was able to attain his goal of developing lasting, healthy habits and a fitness routine.
"Over the past eight weeks, I have learned a lot about fitness and nutrition,” Price said. “I have learned that simple changes in diet and moderate exercising on a consistent basis can make a big difference in a short period of time.”
Price committed to a strict training regimen and slashed his caloric intake to a mere 1900 calories per day. His workout included cardio, boxing, and resistance training. The winner of season eight of “The Biggest Loser,” Danny Cahill, even stopped by for a workout with Price.
Price will join Cahill at the live broadcast of “The Biggest Loser” season finale on March 18th in Los Angeles, California.
When initially asked about the difficulty of the changes and the special challenges of sharing such a personal part his life, Price said:
“It will not be easy, but I have always believed that the stronger your will is to achieve something, the more you will endure to reach it.”
Price joined the 2NEWS weather team in December of 2011, as the 2NEWS weekend morning meteorologist. He is an Oklahoma native who graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Meteorology.
