Who do celebrities think will win the Super Bowl XLVII?
Scripps Howard News Service wants to know, and it welcomes your help.
The Scripps Howard News Service is currently gathering celebrity predictions for the Scripps Celebrity Super Bowl Poll, a Scripps tradition since 1986.
SHNS has already received predictions from stars like Matt Bomer, Richard Schiff, Marlon Wayans, Omar Epps and John Leguizamo by staking out the red carpet at the Creative Coalition Inaugural Ball.
The Scripps Howard News Service welcomes help from employees at all the Scripps newspapers and television stations. If someone wants to contribute a celebrity name and contact info, SHNS would be happy to add them to the list!
The celebrity Super Sage wins a trophy. But that’s not the only award.
“This year, SHNS will give two internal trophies,” said Carolyn Cerbin, content editor at SHNS. “One trophy is for "most gets" and one is for "biggest get." (I'm looking at you, President Obama!).”
You can tell celebs or their agents that they will be competing with fellow celebs such as Brad Pitt, Octavia Spencer, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danica Patrick for the title of Super Sage of the Scripps Celebrity Super Bowl Poll, and get national exposure in segments on our Scripps networks of TV stations, newspapers, wire service and social media.
"The poll, which has tapped the wisdom of celebrities since 1986, is one of the most fun -- and funniest -- contests around," said Cerbin. "Celebrity trash-talking IS allowed and encouraged!"
What if the celebrity you can contact doesn't care about sports?
"That's cool,” said Cerbin. “Maybe they grew up near a team's city or have a sassy comment about why they couldn't care less about the Super Bowl.”
Entries will be accepted until Jan. 28.
Here is an example from last year:
"New England, 31-28. This pick is based mainly on the fact that my husband is from Dallas. We are Cowboys fans and we don't root for the Giants. Unless we are rooting for them to lose! Go Patriots!"
-- JENNA FISCHER, "The Office, " 2012
Here's what SHNS needs for an official prediction:
1) Who will win the Super Bowl?
2) What will be the score? (We need an actual score.)
3) Any comment/challenge/boast.
"New York, 20-7. The Patriots are terrible losers which mean the Giants, who are great winners, have to work harder than usual, and they will.”
-- MAYA ANGELOU, poet, 2012
