KMGH 7News, the Scripps ABC-affiliate covering Denver, has been honored with 12 Heartland Regional Emmy Awards, including a nod for News Excellence. The award recognizes Denver's 7News for outstanding local coverage and commitment to journalistic excellence. The win is one of several awards given to 7News the weekend of July 21, 2012 in recognition of its achievements in journalism.
"I'm so proud of all the 7News journalists who've been recognized for their excellent work,” said Jeff Harris, news director. “Each one of these awards symbolizes our commitment to Colorado – highlighting its great people and uncovering the stories that need to be told.”
With more than 800 entries, Denver’s 7News also was recognized for best evening newscast-7NEWS at 10PM, investigative reporting by the Call 7 Investigators and best weather anchor.
